How did you two meet?

Travell and I meet in September of 2012 in Greenville, NC, a few weeks after I moved there to attend East Carolina University's Master of Science in Nursing program. He first noticed me while my family was helping me move into my apartment in late August. We had also seen each other in passing, but did not have the opportunity to formally meet. Then one day, as he was returning home from, I was outside walking my dog, and he pulled into the parking lot and noticed me. He then speeds up in a hurry to park, so that he could introduce himself. He did not want to miss the opportunity that was going to change his life forever! I stood then in shock, thinking "oh my God, he's going to run us over". He then hops out of his truck, looking scrumptious in his police officer uniform with these huge biceps, and introduces himself and gives me this number. I sent him a text that night and the next day he took me for a ride on his motorcycle. We then started hanging out almost daily. Within 2 weeks, he knew he wanted me to be his girlfriend. I knew from our first few weeks of getting to know each other that he was the one. I can remember saying to myself "this is the guy you take home to mom and dad, and you marry".

How did s/he pop the question?

Travell took me to pick out a ring in July 2017. So everyday afterwards, I was anxiously waiting for him to pop the question, especially on holidays or special occasions. I made sure I kept my nails manicured. He tried really hard to surprise me, but I spent everyday prepared and asking when. The jeweler even made the mistake of calling my cell phone when my ring was ready for pick up. Knowing that he had my ring made me more anxious. He then decided he would propose in the comfort of our home after realizing that he was going to have a really hard time surprising me. One day, he sent me a picture hinting that he had my ring. He knew I had searched our house from top to bottom looking for it, but I could never find it. Then on the evening of March 2, 2018, he decided to send me on a scavenger hunt around our house looking for my ring. When I came down the hallway and turned to enter our bedroom there he was on one knee asking me to marry him.

Any advice on the perfect proposal?

Your proposal should be a special, and thoughtful reflection of your relationship.
